MODULE 2
   GOAL SETTING

·        WHAT IS GOAL?


..."Goals are the ends toward which we direct our effort. In other words, goals are things we want to achieve.

..."Goals are important in varsity life because they help motivate you do work, attend classes and study." 

..."Even though you already may have set some goals before in your life, chances are you though little about whether those goals were realistic.


·        SETTING GOALS FOR THE NEW SEMESTER 



Of course, as a son or daughter, the first goal we want to achieve is to make our parents proud.

·        WHAT IS GOAL SETTING?


v It a process for us to think our coming future and motivate ourself to be a version that our future wants.
v It also a process which it help you where do you want to go and do for your life.
v Definitely when we set our goals, it motivate you to get you achieve your dreams and you will build a self-confidence.






v DIFFERENT BETWEEN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

v TYPE OF GOALS

  • i. LONG TERM GOALS
    ii. SHORT TERM GOALS
    iii. LIFETIME GOALS

Long-term goals is a plan for your future that maybe it takes many years to achieve.
Example: Buy a house.

Short-term goals is something that a person wants to achieve near a future and maybe it only takes less than a year.
Example: Get 3.75 for semester one.

Lifetime goals are often general at first but it will be specific when we work for it.
Example: “I want to be an English teacher.” But maybe it will becomes “I am a Mathematics teacher.”

ACTIVITY 1

Writing effective goal statements- The 5 steps approach.
STEP 1 : What you want to accomplish.
STEP 2 : Your obstacles.
STEP 3 : Your resources that available to you.
STEP 4 : Review and Revise your tentative goal statement.
STEP 5 : Polish your goal statement.




To be both useful and motivating the goals you set must have important characteristics:
a) Goals should be self-chosen
b) Goals should be moderately challenging
c) Goals should be realistic
d) Goals should be measurable
e) Goals should be specific
f) Goals should be finite
g) Goals should be positive

v USING THE LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (LMS)
Learning Management System (LMS) is a software application that allows instructors to create, document, track, report and deliver courses to students. Additionally, it helps the instructors to deliver material to the students, administer tests and other assignments, track student progress, and manage record-keeping. In UiTM, the Learning Management System (LMS) is called i-Learn. i-Learn aims to help students increase the skills of technology use, and improve knowledge acquisition and information sharing.
